I have been waiting to hear the results from the Final Cut meeting last night. I haven't heard anyone celebrating the release of FC Server, or any other cool FC-related anything.
Does anyone know what ever came of this "secret announcement?"
Nope, but must not have been anything important or else we'd have heard about it or seen an update of some sort on the apple site.

Good suggestions, I suppose I got stumped for that (colour) as well. The full-colour version looked almost too saturated and and the purely black/white looked too plain. I kinda went with a cross between the two and it came out more sepia-ish.
B+W with red toe-nails?? I'm sure you could PS that without a re-shoot.

I dont think Apple will slap it into Powerbook, it just seems 2 big for it (phisical size). Remember, PBs are 1 inch think and are getting 20-40 % smaller with Intel!
Is it really that big? It measures about 1.8" by 1.8", and the package includes both GPU and 128 MB RAM. I forget how big 9700 was, but X1600 should be smaller.

Same happened to me, but a hard restart somehow helped. :confused:
It's good and bad. It fixed the problem, but now I can't reproduce my steps to recreate the problem for a bug report. Try to file a bug report if possible.

Or be a clever bean and take off the Gore options in easy mode. Or just put the option in for anymode. Adult and suck at it? Easy mode, tick Gore box. Child present? untick Gore box.
Rail shooters are just twich/reaction based games. They could totally remove blood and the game would still work. Hell if this game is just Point Blank with a Resident Evil/Zombie theming then it would still work.

RE4 is one of my favorite games. I'm not sure I would buy it again just to use Wiimotes, they would have to add something extra.

After reading the review, they have some benchmarks in there that are favorable (around 30fps at 1440x900 on Quake 4). This is their final conclusion:

I know I'm bumping a slightly old post, but I'm in the exact same position as you! I really wanted to get Black to for gaming nostalgia, but I read online that they are planning on a 3D pokemon title, and that game won't work on the DSi. So, I think I've decided to just go and get a 3DS--
Nope. There have been no "official" rumours of a 3DS Pokemon game in the style of Black/White (and the other main series games). Of course the next one will be out on the 3DS. But there have been no rumours surfacing yet and it'll be at least 1 year until we see a new game, with the average being 3-4 years for a new title.
Of course there's always a kid on Youtube who says his uncle Jed works for Game Freak and knows all about the next game ;)

Hi, I want to put some CD's that I purchased on my iTunes to put on my iPod. The only problem is that I am getting a new laptop soon, my BlackBook is dyeing.)))): Well, so far I have bought all my music on iTunes, but it's so expensive. I bought many CD's like I said, and I'm putting them on iTunes. When I plug the iPod into a new computer, it would ask me if I wanted to transfer my purchases. And everything that I bought would transfer. The songs that I got from other websites wouldn't transfer. But If I import the CD's through iTunes, will it still transfer to the new computer? Or do they have to be bought from iTunes?

Running 10.7 DP2. iTunes runs fine, until I plug in my iPhone, at which point iTunes beach balls uncontrollably.

The most powerful PPC cards are the Nvidia 7800GT or ATI 1900XT. They are pretty much on par performance wise.
They require a PCIe slot, though, which I'm not sure your G5 has. Only the late 2005 models are equipped with this slot. All previous G5 models have a AGP slot, in which case you should settle with a Nvidia 6800 Ultra. However, if you can find one, a flashed PC 7800 for AGP (usually on ebay) will be your best bet.

Does do a what i want but removing my floats kinda makes a gap between the nav and sub nav. Though adding in some floats makes the sidebar move again so i'll need to sort out this gap.

yes, that's exactly what I did. I took an external 1TB WD small form factor drive (it houses a 2.5" HDD), created 200GB and 800GB partitions, then installed Lion on the smaller one. I still haven't begun to use the larger partition, however :D
BTW, has anyone gotten iStat Menus 2.0 running on Lion? I can't seem to get it working correctly. It downloads the sensors, but when I click on any of them in the preference pane, I'm told that they can't be loaded.

Thanks for that. Yes it's going to be my first SLR. Parents are willing to stretch to whatever as I never ask for much usually anyways and I'm the kind of person who would prefer to save the money and buy things myself etc.
I know about Tamron and Sigma lens too, I've been looking at those as well. I wasn't sure if 18-55 would be enough and that I might need a new lens in the near future. I forgot to mention, I'm also going on Holiday visiting Hong Kong, China area and before going I'll be playing around with the camera to make sure by the time I go on holiday I'll get the best shots etc.

When I first started out with my Sony, I used it to make smart albums based on a few focal lengths and decide what I wanted to have better, After my niece was born, it was clear that the lens I needed was a 50mm with a big aperture... It is also a lot more useful than those few things - along with Lightroom (just Lightroom is 3 or 4 times the price).
I really like using the far end of my 55-200 in street photography, something I'll be doing a lot more of when I move to NY, as it has a nice reach on it for getting fairly candid photos of people. My 50mm lens is great for getting portraits and is awesome in low light.

This is indeed a well known issue with cubes. Some people were affected immediately, and others only after a period of time like you.
My cube has a 'seizure' about once every 4 months and it will do this for an hour or two and then correct itself and be fine again.
There have been numerous causes and solutions suggested and it appears that different things work for different machines.
The usual cause is the proximity switch - the touch sensitive one on top of the cube. Most people report that the switching on and off is caused by a badly fitting or loose gasket around this switch inside the cube.
Some people say that making sure this gasket is seated firmly will cure the problem, and others have had this replaced (for free) by Apple.
I have never found this to be the case with mine, it just seems to have a mind of its own, for short spells every now and again.
Some people have also reported that this happens on hot days or when the air-con is swithed off. I've not noticed this (as I live in the UK it never gets hot!).
There have been hundreds of discussions on this topic since the cube was introduced and you can probably find some useful info on the web.
I'm not sure why Apple have not provided more help on this topic given what a widespread issue it was/is, but I just searched Google for "Apple Cube Switch problem" and it came back with a lot of links. Since trading pokemons will be incredibly easy thanks to Wi-Fi, I wouldn't bother much with the decision, just choose the legendary Pokemon you'd like to have (either the pearl exclusive or diamond exclusive), the rest you'll probably be able to get almost effortlessly through trading.
In any case you'll have lots of fun with either, there are not many differences between each.
I might be getting a DS just for this game... it looks too good to pass on...
